IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THESE INTERPRETATIONS DO NOT REPLACE THE READING OF THE BIBLE BUT MERELY PLACE VARIOUS MATTERS IN THE CORRECT CONTEXT AND HIGHLIGHT VERY IMPORTANT POINTS!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY, THROUGHOUT THE BIBLE, JEHOVAH GOD ONLY “GIVES” US WHAT WE AS HUMANS “NEED” TO KNOW ABOUT HIM, HIS INTENTIONS, HIS PLANS AND HIS DESIRES!!
CONTINUING WITH THE BOOK OF NUMBERS
NUMBERS Chapter 9
A very brief interpretation of Chapter 9 will follow:
This Chapter commences with JEHOVAH GOD instituting the Passover; and below is the wording of HIS instruction to Moses:
Verse 1 to 3 state “1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the FIRST MONTH of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 Let the children of Israel also keep the PASSOVER at his appointed season. 3 In the FOURTEENTH DAY of THIS MONTH, at EVEN, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the RITES of it, and according to all the CEREMONIES thereof, shall ye keep it.”
Once again, the VITALLY important points to note are in capital letters, coloured in red and underlined; so as to make them more obvious and noticeable.
WHICH MONTH: the FIRST MONTH!!
WHICH DAY: the FOURTEENTH DAY!!
WHAT PERIOD of the DAY: the EVENING!!
WHAT WILL BE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE: the RITES and CEREMONIES that were to be adhered to!!
Verse 11 states that should a man not qualify to attend the Passover due to being unclean, travelling away from home or any other valid reason, then that person could partake of the Passover ONE MONTH LATER; on the FOURTEENTH DAY of the SECOND MONTH.
There were also other conditions and restrictions as indicated in Verses 11 to 13 that had to be observed.
Verses 11 to 13 state “11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and EAT IT WITH UNLEAVENED BREAD and BITTER HERBS. 12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, NOR BREAK ANY BONE OF IT: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it. 13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.”
The words “EAT IT WITH UNLEAVENED BREAD” depict the PERFECT and FLESHLY body of Jesus when He was murdered on the torture stake; the word “UNLEAVENED” depicting the “UNBLEMISHED” and “PERFECT” condition of His body.
The words “BITTER HERBS” depict the UTTER DISGUST with which JEHOVAH GOD had to experience these evil and miserable excuses for humans that were supposed to be HIS true people BRUTALLY MURDERING HIS Son.
The words “NOR BREAK ANY BONE OF IT” depict the CONDITION of the BONES in Jesus’ body when He was BRUTALLY MURDERED; – NOT A SINGLE BONE IN HIS BODY WAS BROKEN!!! The reason that no bones were broken was to lengthen the period of suffering before Jesus EVENTUALLY died!!!
The last sentence of Verse 13 indicates that it is IMPERATIVE that TRUE BELIEVERS and DOERS of the WILL of JEHOVAH GOD are OBLIGED to attend the Passover or face ETERNAL DESTRUCTION!!!
From the above, we can therefore accept that JEHOVAH GOD already at that time KNEW how EVIL the FALSE RELIGIOUS LEADERS were; and what was EVENTUALLY going to happen to Jesus.
ALL THE RELIGIONS OF TODAY ARE BASICALLY BUILT ON THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE FALSE RELIGIONS OF THAT TIME!!!
It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to take note of the above as many persons apparently consider “The Old Testament” to be of minor value; if of any value at all!!!
Verse 14 reads “And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.”
I believe that ONLY the 144 000 persons that were “bought” from the earth to reside in HEAVEN ETERNALLY were, or are allowed to partake of the “wine” and “unleavened bread” that represent the “blood” and “body” of Jesus.
The “strangers” spoken of in Verse 14 are thus the persons that make up the “great crowd” that will live ETERNALLY on this very same physical earth when JEHOVAH GOD takes back HIS rightful rule.
They were originally considered to be “strangers” as they were NOT originally members of the Israelite nation; which were considered to be JEHOVAH GOD’s “earthly” nation.
These “strangers” EVENTUALLY learnt of the ONE REAL TRUTH and ONE RESULTANT HOPE ; became aware of the PURPOSE, SIGNIFICANCE and VALUE of the Passover; and EVENTUALLY became members of the “SPIRITUAL ISRAEL”; and thus realized, as they still do today that they must commemorate it as well.
The rest of the Chapter tells of when the Israelites were allowed to travel and when NOT; when the “cloud” covered the Tabernacle they were NOT allowed to travel at all; and that when the “cloud” did NOT cover the Tabernacle they HAD to keep on travelling, irrespective of whether it was day or night.
My Next Post should cover NUMBERS Chapter 10.
